History of the Dance Attic
The Dance Attic first opened in 1988. It was located in the “attic” of an insurance company on Main St. in Rolesville, NC. By 2000, the Dance Attic had outgrown it’s “attic” and relocated to The Friendship Center on S. Main St. in Wake Forest, NC. It began in Wake Forest with two dance studios. Later, a third studio was added as well as office space in the back. Recently, another space across the breezeway has been added to give us two more studios connected by a sitting area.
Since the beginning all dancers from the Dance Attic have been competing in a local competition. In 2005 the Dance Attic Company was formed and represents the studio around the community and at traveling competitions. Both the dance classes and the company have grown and improved and have begun to make a name for The Dance Attic in the dance community.
The Dance Attic is conveniently located in the Friendship Center on S. Main St. in Wake Forest, NC. There is plenty of parking and it’s easy to drop off and pick up your child.
Inside you will find five spacious dance floors. Three are connected by a lobby where parents can sit and wait, or observe through a one-way viewing window. There is a desk and information center for you to stay up-to-date on activities and events. The other two are across the breezeway and are connected by a sitting area where parents and students can wait.
