Pictures 3/12-3/15

The 2019-2020 picture days will be held at the studio on Thursday, March 12th- Sunday, March 15th.  All students should attend for group shots even if you are not getting individual portraits.  Click the link below for the picture schedule.   Picture day procedures and order forms will be posted here when they are available.  You will also be able to choose photos for your  pages in our souvenir recital yearbook.  Click below for the order form.

Star Talent 3/6-3/8

We are excited to be getting ready to compete at the  Star Talent dance competition in Louisburg, NC  March 6th-8th.  All combo classes and groups A-H will be participating!  The competition will be held at Louisburg College. As soon as it’s available (typically about one week before the competition) we will post our studio schedule and the general schedule outline.   Click the link below for directions.  We can’t wait to cheer our team on and enjoy the rewards from all of our hard work!

Master Class – emily- 10/19

The Dance Attic is pleased to welcome  Emily Wayne to teach a Contemporary master class on Saturday, October 19.   Emily started dancing at the age of 2 wanting to follow in the footsteps of her own mother. Growing up in North Myrtle Beach, SC she was able to train with many dancers who came through town.  Her main training came from her mother’s studio.  Emily has also trained with the Joffrey ballet as well as SC’s Governor School. In 2012 Emily became a national title holder, America’s Miss Dance which expanded her interests into the pageant world.  Emily is trained in all 3 ballet methods Balanchine, Cecchetti, and Vaganova.  She grew up in the competition world winning a lot of first place awards as well as choreography awards.   The cost is $10 in advance and $15 at the door if space is available.  The class schedule is as follows:

1:00pm-2:00pm      Groups A-D
2:00pm-3:00pm      Groups E-H

Master Class – kai- 10/6

The Dance Attic is pleased to welcome Kai Hinkey to teach a Ballet master class on Saturday, October 6th.

Originally from Philadelphia, Kai is a Magna Cum Laude graduate from Rowan University with a BA in Speech/Theater/Dance. Kai was an adjunct professor of dance education at Rowan University, implemented dance programs for the public school systems with New Jersery School of the Arts and Rowan University, and taught ballet at the Gloucester County Ballet School. In 1998, Kai moved to Denver where she danced for the Hannah Kahn Dance Company and the Off-Center Dance Collective. She continued to teach for state arts programs in Colorado and for several dance/theater studios. For the past ten years, Kai has continued to teach and to perform in San Jose and Raleigh winning numerous awards for her choreography as well as high scores at regional and national dance competitions.

The cost is $10 in advance and $15 at the door if space is available.  The class schedule is as follows:

10:00am-11:00am   Groups A-D
11:00am-12:00pm   Groups E-H
