Dress Code & Attire
At The Dance Attic, we believe that following a dress code helps create a professional and focused environment in class. While we do not require specific colors of leotards or designated uniforms for weekly classes, we do expect dancers to follow the guidelines below to ensure safety, comfort, and consistency.
General Guidelines
Hair must always be secured and kept out of the face.
Excessive jewelry is not permitted in class.
Mini Movers & Creative Movement Dancers
As long as they are comfortable to move in, your dancer is good to go. Tights or leotards are not required weekly. Many dancers enjoy shopping for fun leotards for the season, which can be found at Target, Amazon, or with our partner Dance Etc. (more information below).

Combo Dancers
Same energy as Mini Movers — dancers should be comfortable to move. Athletic attire such as leggings, biker shorts, and tank tops are perfect. Leotards are not required at this level, but dancers may wear them sometimes. Tights will be required for recital.
CLICK HERE for ballet shoes for your dancer. These are for both class and performance. Dancers will be barefoot for jazz classes.
Ballet (Advanced Levels)
Leotard and tights are required.
Hair must be in a secure bun before entering class.
Hip Hop & Crew
Dancers must wear loose-fitting bottoms to all Crew classes.
A clean street shoe is required for class (specific performance shoes will be communicated before shows).
Other Dance Styles
Dance pants, leggings, or shorts may be worn at the teacher’s discretion.
Oversized shirts or sweatpants should not be worn unless specifically instructed by the teacher.
