Master Class -Ariana- 12/01

The Dance Attic is pleased to welcome Ariana Cruz to teach a contemporary master class on Saturday, December 1st. Ariana  received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Education from East Carolina University.  During her time at East Carolina University, Ariana performed in multiple main-stage shows, contemporary concerts, and senior choreography concerts. She stage managed senior choreography concerts and was the concert coordinator for the senior solo concert. As a member of East Carolina Dance Educators, Ariana served as the Community Outreach coordinator, seeking new ways to reach the surrounding communities with collaboration through dance. The cost is $10 in advance and $15 at the door if space is available.  The class schedule is as follows:

Master Class -Rachel- 11/17

The Dance Attic is pleased to welcome Rachel Goldberg to teach a ballet master class on Saturday, November 17th.  Rachel began her training in New Jersey at the Academy of Dance Arts studying RAD technique. She continued her studies at the Harid Conservatory in Boca Raton, FL before receiving her BFA in Ballet from U. of Cincinnati’s College Conservatory of Music. While pursuing her degree, Rachel spent two years dancing with the Sarasota Ballet and an additional two in the corps de ballet after graduating. Rachel moved to North Carolina in August 2016 and now teaches ballet in the triangle area. The cost is $10 in advance and $15 at the door if space is available.  The class schedule is as follows:

Master Class – Damon- 10/20

The Dance Attic is pleased to welcome Damon Bellmon to teach a Hip Hop master class on Saturday, October 20.   Damon is a professional dancer currently living in Atlanta, Georgia. Born in Chattanooga, Tennessee however, this small town guy lives to do big things!! Damon has danced in big screen films such as “Stomp The Yard 2: Homecoming” and “Sleepless” starring Jamie Foxx. He has also been featured on two seasons of the national television show “So You Think You Can Dance” and now he is here and excited to dance with you!

The cost is $10 in advance and $15 at the door if space is available.  The class schedule is as follows:

Master Class – Kennedy- 10/6

The Dance Attic is pleased to welcome Kennedy Hill to teach a Hip Hop master class on Saturday, October 6th. Kennedy began her training at Katura Dance Academy in Greenville, North Carolina. She is a recent graduate of East Carolina University’s School of Theatre and Dance where she received her BFA in Dance Education. Kennedy has trained in ballet, jazz, and modern & enjoys teaching hip-hop, contemporary and conditioning.  Kennedy has completed summer training at Debbie Allen Dance Academy in Los Angeles, California and the Alvin Ailey Summer Intensive in New York City. She has had the opportunity to perform in major cities such as Atlanta and Chicago but most importantly enjoys working and serving her community to create learning experiences through the art of dance.

The cost is $10 in advance and $15 at the door if space is available.  The class schedule is as follows:

Master Class-Alumni led-9/22

The Dance Attic is pleased to welcome alumni to teach a 3 class workshop on Saturday, September 22nd.  Abby Telenko will teach Contemporary, Kenard Williams will teach Tap, and Alexis Barton will  teach Jazz.  This class will count as 2 master classes for TDAC. See the  September Newsletter for instructor bios and pictures.  This class will be $20 in advance and $25 at the door.  The class schedule is as follows:

All dancers come from 12:00pm-2:15pm and they will rotate through the 3 classes

Bring a Friend Week 9/17-9/20

Bring a friend week will be September 17-20.  This is a great time to give the Dance Attic a try!  You can come to class with a current student or contact the studio and we will tell you which class would be good to attend.  This gives you a chance to find out what we are all about!   A release form must completed by a parent to participate. Master Class – Mary- 8/25

The Dance Attic is pleased to welcome Mary Bird to teach a contemporary master class on Saturday, August 25th.  Mary is a recent graduate of East Carolina University with a BFA in Dance Performance and Choreography. She has trained in ballet, modern, and jazz techniques and improvisation for 19 years. Her professional experience includes performances in ECU’s main stage shows as well as ADF’s Footprints, with guest artist work such as Jillian Peña, Micah Geyer, Ji-Eun Lee, and Danielle Sheather.  The class schedule is a s follows:

Master Class – Danyel – 8/11

The Dance Attic is pleased to welcome Danyel Beaver to teach a jazz master class on Saturday, August 11th.  Danyel trained at Nina’s School of Dance from age 3-18 and is currently a scholarship student at East Carolina University. She received a BFA in dance in May and will be receiving a BA in journalism in the fall. Danyel has performed in works in the main stage shows at ECU by guest artists and faculty since her freshman year. Her sophomore year of college, she was able to perform a faculty work at ACDA in West Virginia. As a choreographer, her work has been selected to be showcased in numerous shows at ECU and she has been selected to assist in choreographing two of the School of Theatre and Dance musicals. Danyel has also worked as a professional dancer for one season at The Lost Colony in Manteo, NC. In April, she will be showing an original dance film in Las Vegas at a national conference. After graduating, she hopes to pursue a career in musical theatre choreography.  The schedule is as follows:

Master Class – Sam – 8/4

The Dance Attic is pleased to welcome Sam Tickle to teach an acro master class on Saturday, August 4th. Sam is a New Jersey native, but fell in love with North Carolina and has been here since 2006.  She is a Meredith College graduate with a degree in Exercise and Sports Science. Sam began doing gymnastics at age 6 and has been involved in the sport ever since.  She was a competitive gymnast for the Montclair Starlettes for 8 years.  After years of competing she turned to coaching and has been with Superior Gymnastics since 2008.  The class schedule is as follows:
